Spalted Maple Round Server
This unique server features “spalted maple.” Spalted Maple is technically not a specific species of Maple, but rather a type of Maple that has been allowed to begin initial stages of decay. The partial decay, called spalting, gives the wood dark contrasting lines and streaks where fungus has begun to attack the wood.
This piece of wood was originally meant for the fire as it was rescued from the burn pile. Milled down to workable piece and glued together to form a circle. Show off this rare server as a table centre piece, oil and vinegar display, or a charcuterie board.
Please note that spalting generates a random pattern and not all products will featuring the same grain. Samples of the raw wood can be provided before item is built.
